The
collaborative process begins with two parties committed to reaching
a resolution of the issues facing them in a divorce in a way that
addresses their issues and concerns. The parties and
attorneys meet in a conference setting in order to present the issues
to be resolved and to discuss potential solutions. Both parties
are committed to make full and fair disclosures of all facts pertinent
to their legal matters. If necessary, the attorneys and parties
will bring in a financial expert to clarify financial issues. The
parties and attorneys can also enlist the services of a child psychologist
and if applicable, a therapist to assist the parties whenever needed.
The parties share their experts and hire those experts trained in
the collaborative process who will give an objective opinion based
on the information provided to them. The group of attorneys and
experts operates as a team working toward positive resolution. This
is the collaborative process at work. |
